with Nicola Emsley
Monday 14th November 2016, 9:45-12:45
Nicola is a Dramatherapist who specialises in working with young people and families who have experienced trauma and may have attachment or relational difficulties. She qualified from Derby University in September 2014 and has gone on to develop a child-centred practice that incorporates both directive and child-led creative therapeutic approaches.
Learn how to use storytelling and movement to help children and young people explore themselves and their relationships.
This workshop will introduce the principles of Dramatherapy within the framework of a developmental approach.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in:
- Experiential exercises
- Group reflections and discussion
- An overview of theory, relevant therapeutic models and approaches
No acting experience is necessary for this workshop, which is appropriate for practitioners working therapeutically with children, young people and families. It may also be relevant for counsellors or therapists working with adults who are hoping to incorporate creative approaches into their practice.
