We are delighted to offer a new in-depth training programme for 2017-18, providing essential skills and knowledge for counsellors and therapists who wish to specialise in work with young people aged 11-18+.
This course will take place across five weekends between January and June 2018, providing a total of 50 hours of face-to-face training. It is open to qualified Play Therapists and counsellors of all disciplines who want to develop their skills in working with adolescent clients. A good awareness of the principles of Non-Directive Play Therapy is required, and counsellors from other disciplines will usually be asked to attend our two-day training ‘Non-Directive Play Therapy: Principles and Practice’ (or equivalent) before beginning this course.
This course fulfils the training requirements of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) for working with young people from the age of 11 years, and awaits CPD endorsement by the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT).
Full details of this course can be found here.
Cost: £1100 per participant
One-Day CPD Events
We maintain our commitment to building a supportive network of child and adolescent mental health practitioners in our local area, and are currently reviewing the format of our ongoing CPD events to ensure that these are accessible and meet the needs of the local community.
In response to the requests of previous CPD participants for more time to explore the subject matter raised, we are introducing a series of all-day training events. Unless otherwise stated, these are suitable for counsellors and psychotherapists working with any age group, as well as professionals offering emotional support to children and young people.
More information will be posted here as soon as it is available.
If you would like to be kept informed of training, please use our contact form to request a place on our mailing list.
We recently ran the following two-day course. If you would like to attend this training in future, please contact us to register your interest.
